I hope by sharing memories of my earlier years in the part of Wilmington, NC that was once know as East Wilmington and the part of New Hanover County that was Masonboro Sound you will have an idea of what the South was like during the 1950s and 1960s.
The stories are from 50+ year old memories so in some cases they may not be completely accurate, but my intention is to be as accurate as posible.

My first grade class at Forest Hills School
If you were in this class or can name any one that I can't remember the names I sure would like to hear from you. Many I know that I should know but a half century plays tricks on the ole mind.
I was in Miss Spillman's class 1957-1958 and I don't see myself in the picture. Miss Spillman told us this was her first year teaching I believe. The little sign says April 1958 if I see it right. Hugh Morton's son Jimmy was in my class. Barry Barco
